Inter•Phase is an exploration of the confluence of time, environment and artistic expression, encapsulated in the beauty of a Finnish island during the most introspective month of the year. This initiative, a concerted effort by artists Jamsen LAW, LEE Suet Ying and Roy WONG, represents a collaboration that spans the fields of video, painting and sculpture. Their collective vision was to orchestrate a series of six site-specific installations along the island's southern trails, each a meditation on the fleeting nature of both the season and the art it inspires.

Over the course of a compressed two-week period, dictated by the island's scarce daylight and mercurial climate, the trio embarked on a rigorous cycle of creation. Evenings became a sanctuary of working passion with the artists immersed in a sequence of moulding, casting, carving and painting - a testament to their commitment to the realisation of the project.

Faced with the undomesticated canvas of the wilderness, Jamsen, Lee and Roy sought to translate the stillness of winter into a virtual experience, with music composed by Jantzen TSE, designed to captivate those who revere the solemnity unique to the season, enhanced by the touch of human creativity.

Surrounded by the solitude of a month-long winter residency - a privilege granted by ÖRES and supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council - the artists were afforded the luxury of uninterrupted contemplation. This period of concentration allowed for a deep engagement with their environment, fostering the distillation of perception into art.

The resulting virtual journey is a deliberate presentation that transcends the temporality of the exhibition. It is an invitation to immerse oneself in a digitally rendered tour of a landscape both familiar and surreal, transformed by the collaborative vision.
